Go north on 14th Street NW and go north of John Laurie Boulevard. After you go past the Calgary Police Station and other buildings, Nose Hill Park will appear on your west. Go into the 14th Street parking lot and try to park at the top of the switchback.
From the parking lot, find the main path up the hill. The main path is the old road to the gravel pit at the top of Nose HIll and you will recognize it as it is an old asphalt road, not just a walking path. Go to the top of the hill.
At the top of the hill follow the main path west until you see the gravel pit on the north side. Take the easy path down into the old pit. Don't climb down the gravel sides as the gravel will roll and you may sprain an ankle or worse.
Outcrop of Nose Hill Gravel looking south.
