Visiting geological sites in Calgary and area is a great way to stay in touch with field geology and share our geological history with everyone. These notes will help anyone to see Calgary's last 66 million years or so, close up. Most sites that were originally mapped and described by geologists are now built-over or fenced off. But the sites I describe can still be viewed safely from flat sites on public property, so no need to put yourself in any jeopardy. Please stay off the outcrops - they are fragile and there are no fossils or rocks to collect. You will be outside and you may be close to traffic and other people in a busy urban setting, so visit at your own risk. Always think safety before science.
Don't worry. None of this!
